Wyatt is a handsome orange & white male weighing approximately 50 pounds. He has intense bird drive, a staunch point and natural retrieve. Wyatt received his conformation championship with several Best of Breed wins. He earned his American Junior Hunter title by passing 4 straight tests. He also has his Companion Dog title in competition obedience. Wyatt is very affectionate and is great with children and other dogs.
We have had Wyatt in our home for almost one year now, and wanted to let you know how incredibly happy we are with him. Though we were originally considering a puppy, once we saw Wyatt's pictures and learned more about him, we thought he would be the perfect fit for our family. We were right!
First and foremost, Wyatt is part of our family. We have two little girls under 4 years old and Wyatt is incredible with them. He is very submissive, even to the littlest one, and our older daughter could walk him on the leash right from the start. He is that well trained and obedient. In the house, he is very calm and loves his stuffed animals! He never chews the girls' toys even though they are right next to his own. He recognises his boundaries very well, and never goes out of the areas of the house he is permitted in. He does not bark - except sometimes when he is dreaming!
Wyatt is an amazing hunter. He has worked grouse, pheasant, duck and goose. His bird drive is amazing. He readily finds and retrieves the waterbirds (though the geese are a little big!), but he is an total superstar with the upland birds. If there is a stubborn grouse or pheasant hidden in the brush Wyatt will not move a muscle until that bird is flushed. You can stomp around him, fire the gun near him - his point is solid. He is an amazing dog and his absolute favourite place to be is in a field or forest looking for birds.
Wyatt is also the perfect dog around strangers and other dogs. He never barks or acts in any way aggressive or even overly interested. He is calm and obedient in all situations even when other dogs are acting very aggressively towards him. At the vet they were very impressed with him. The vet said he was the calmest Brittany he had ever seen. Wyatt did not react at all to any of the exam. He lay on his back with his eyes closed for much of it, did not even flinch with the needle, and was very still and calm for the prostate exam.
Thank you Danielle for such an amazing dog. I could not have asked for anything more. He is gorgeous (we are constantly getting compliments) and perfectly well behaved. I think it is an absolute testament to your kennel that you chose Wyatt as one of your foundation stud dogs. In my opinion, anyone would be incredibly blessed to bring one of his children, grand-children, or great-grand-children into their home as a family pet and hunting companion.
