Callie is a high drive yellow female weighing 65lb. She lives to retrieve and would go all day if you asked her to. She won't give up until she has the bird or object in her mouth. She has her CD title in obedience, her Working Certificate, and her Junior Hunter title. She is calm in the house and excellent with children. Her puppies from previous litters have all shown her high level of retrieving desire, eagerness to please, intelligence, and hunting ability, and some have even demonstrated a natural ability to point. Her puppies excel in hunting, hunt tests, competition dog sports, or for those people wanting an active puppy.
"She is tough & I mean tough. She swims in ice water for fun. Big brush, No problem. Breaks ice to get to the bird. We have had the toughest hunting breed Chesapekes. We have hunted on the Snake River in Idaho in Jan at -6°F & Callie is as tough as any Chesapeke we have ever owned.
She is gentle: never barks, always wants to please.
She is a GREAT hunter:( World Class). She lives to retrieve.
Callie is one of those very special dogs that come only once in a lifetime.
We are 70 years old & we have had hunting dogs for 50 years. Field trial & Reg. hunting dogs. Let me tell you about this very special dog.

Callie has great hunting energy, from the time I get her out in the morning she is the happiest dog in the world. She springs up off all fours. It makes me happy to see her so happy. In the duck blind she is so alert. She hears the geese before we do. Her ears go up (see the picture) so we know geese are in the area. Her body quivers with anticipation when we pick up our guns to shoot. She makes retrieves that are unreal. She marks downed birds at over 250 yrds. Her nose is excellent. If you knock down a bird she will get it. She has not missed one bird in over 200 retrieves. We use 20ga guns, so we get a few more cripples than a 12ga gunner. Many times waterfowl will dive under water & not come up for a long distance. We watch where they come out of the water & take Callie there & she gets them everytime. Simple stated she is a world class retriever. She will retrieve 4 or 5 birds out of one flock & be looking for more. She Loves to retrieve & hits the water with all fours in the air. It is a thing of beauty to watch her. She loves to retrieve & to please you.
When she is not hunting she is like a different dog. She is gentle. She sleeps by my chair. She is perfect. Active when she is hunting & gentle when not hunting. She is always obedient & always wants to please.
Callie could have been a National Field Trial Champion. She picks up birds on the fly. She leaps into the water. The other day the pond we hunt was frozen over. We knocked down a drake mallard. It hit out on the ice & Callie went after it with her normal speed. Just as she got to the bird & opened her mouth, the bird moved & she skidded about 20 feet past the bird. She did not miss the next time.
Callie is a remarkable hunter --Extremely smart--never barks--Always wants to please. One of a kind. She is truly a once in a life time dog."
